Trackables let you keep track of various things in your life. To get started, go to the main Trackables tab and pull down the list of popular Trackables, or add one via the text box. If no one else has tracked it, you can create your own Trackable type!
When you make a new Trackable type, you'll be asked to pick the units (e.g., miles, pounds, etc.) and write a short description of what it's tracking. This information helps to make sure that everyone on the site is recording their information in the same way. This is important because it lets you compare your Trackables to other people and to community averages for those Trackables.
Samples
A Trackable is a collection of a group of Samples. Each Sample records the value of that Trackable at a particular time.
Graphs
If you have at least two Samples in a Trackable, the Graph buttons will appear. You can use these buttons to graph the Trackable, compare it to others of your Trackables, and compare it to other people tracking this same Trackable.
Details
Each Trackable has a number of details associated with it. The Details tab is where you can upload an image that will represent that Trackable, set the visibility of that Trackable, and set up a emailed reminder for that Trackable.
Visibility
The visibility setting for a Trackable determines which users are able to see that Trackable's Samples. There are four settings:
- Public - Anyone can see this Trackable, and it will be included in community averages.
- Friends - Only people whom you have invited to be friends, or whom you have accepted a friendship offer from, can see this Trackable. It will also be included in community averages.
- Anonymous - No one can see this Trackable, but it will still be included in community averages.
- Private - No one can see this Trackable, and it won't even be included in community averages.
Whenever possible, please choose Public, Friends or Anonymous rather than Private, so that the community averages are as accurate as possible. Thanks!
Reminders
Each Trackable can be set to send you an email reminder once a day, once a week, once a month or once a year. Trackables default to sending no reminders.
